The challenge:
Every self-respecting sports team needs a mascot.

A blank canvas can be a daunting prospect. AG Rugby knew they wanted a mascot and suggestions had included a bull, a weasel and a fairly strange superhero that had been drawn by the MD’s 6th grader son.

The insight:
If it’s in Texas, it’s got to be from Texas.

We worked hard to ensure that the solution would feel like it had been part of the team and part of the brand all along and had been hiding in plain sight.

The idea:
Meet Austin The Fox.

A mascot with charisma, class and mad drumming skills.

The execution:
Costume character X digital asset.

We developed out the mascot solution to work powerfully on game days, and as a versatile set of illustrations to use across all brand collateral – appealing to the whole family, old and young alike.
